Is this still happening? I can't find the registration anywhere and was looking at possibly making it out to Manhattan that weekend.

Travis Bailey   April 3, 2013 at 9:15pm

I think he said he just hasn't made the page for it last night at league. He said it should be up by the end of the week. It's still on!

Kevin Zane   April 4, 2013 at 11:22pm

Cool, It would be a really good excuse for me to make the trip to Manhattan now that I am back in KC. I'll do my best to make it out.

Kevin RevKev Clark    March 13, 2013 at 10:17pm

Hey Everyone, I don't have permission to create a "new" DFOK league on Disc Golf Scene, so that is why you don't see 2013 Manhattan Area Discgolf Doubles on the DFOK page. The 2013 Doubles League DOES exist though! We started last night with 15 players! The scores are already posted. Currently the 2013 Manhattan Area Discgolf Doubles is listed as an LCM event on Disc Golf Scene, but it is not really and LCM event.

In my opinion need to set down and further discuss this as a group. I think this is one example of why we need to start having regularly scheduled monthly DFOK meetings... otherwise we will become more unorganized & fragmented.

Josh Carroll    March 13, 2013 at 1:23am

Hey everyone! I'll be bringing some K-State discs to Warner Wednesday. We're trying to get rid of all our inventory, so bring $20 and get yourself a Powercat custom stamped disc (Polaris LS or Astra). Funds will be used to support our squad who will be traveling to St. Louis this weekend for the Gateway Collegiate Classic to try and qualify for the 2013 NCDGC!

Shaun Chambers   March 13, 2013 at 12:20pm

Since it turned into a nice afternoon, I went to Fairmont. I picked up an unmarked disc. Describe it and I'll get it back to you.

Actually, it looks like it was mine. Magenta Lat 64 River, Opto plastic. 171g? Probably in the parking lot from my awful drive on hole 9?

Mark Kewley   March 10, 2013 at 5:09pm

HaHa, yep. I'll have it with me Tuesday and Wednesday.

Travis Bailey   March 10, 2013 at 5:14pm

Thanks!

RevKev had posted a while back: Tuesday, March 12th. Looks like this Tuesday!

Robert Adams   March 9, 2013 at 7:30pm

If anyone likes, I'll be at Tuttle for a tag round at 1:00 tomorrow afternoon. If the weather's bad I'll post on here an hour prior. Hope it's a nice day!

Robert Adams   March 10, 2013 at 12:48pm

Not gonna go out today, was hoping the weather would be better. I'm recovering from a bug, and I don't think todays weather is going to help with that, haha. See everyone Tuesday for Doubles!

Kevin Zane    March 8, 2013 at 9:06am

Is there no Little Apple Open this year? I looked around a bit and couldn't find any info.

Zane, Did I read that right? "I'll be moving back to the Olathe area"?

Kevin Zane   March 8, 2013 at 4:58pm

You sure did Rick. Lisa got a great job offer and we are headed back asap. I'll try to make it to Manhattan as much as I can but hopefully I can talk some of you guys into KC trips too.

Jon Tveite   March 11, 2013 at 9:58am

Hey, that's cool. I guess Georgia's loss is Kansas's gain.

2012-2013 Glow League wrap-up

It was a good ending to the season tonight. The wind calmed down and it was pretty nice out there. We played from basket to basket the first time around, then safari holes picked by the pad owner.

The flashlight in the milk jug luminaries were a success. The initial batteries are still going after 10 rounds! I’m going to donate the items I bought. I need to talk with others that supplied equipment to see if they want reimbursed.

no objections here sounds like a good idea to me!

Mark Kewley   May 4, 2013 at 7:56pm

I turned in the $61 from the glow league to Rick today. It will go into the DFOK Fairmont fund since we dont have a real "club treasury" yet.

Tomorrow is ***THE LAST GLOW LEAGE ROUND EVER***, this season. Tee time is 6:30 at Fairmont.

I will be there

Rick Petrie    March 3, 2013 at 6:02am

Anybody made it out to Warner since the last snow fall? If so how are the tee pads looking?

(I was just wondering if the tee pads need to be scraped free of snow / ice for league tomorrow?)

Kevin RevKev Clark   March 2, 2013 at 9:27pm

I played on Friday. Most tee-pads have at least some dry cement.

Dimond Cutter   March 2, 2013 at 10:14pm

2,4,5,6,9 are mostly ice

Rick Petrie   March 3, 2013 at 10:36am

Thanks for the reports from the field. Those conditions are what I was afraid of (esp. 2, 6, 9).. I'll bring tools if anybody wants to show up early today to help clean tee pads...

Mark Kewley    February 26, 2013 at 6:55pm

Glow in the snow? I was thinking about just going around 1 time. Anyone in?

I want to send a special Thank You to everyone who attended today's DFOK Winter Bag Tag & Points league event.

We did ourselves a big favor for being such a well organized & well behaved club/league today. Making good impressions with other members of our community will always help further our sport in the area... A little positive Disc Golf PR will go a long way.

We should all thank Rick for providing the signs that are being used for the Fairmont design work. I'm sure he spent quite a bit of time + his own money for materials.

By the way... I spoke to Riley Co. again this week. They are unsure if they want the fairway sponsorship dollars go through their accounts, or have us handle those dollars somehow. There are more pros than cons in having the RL Co. accountants receive the funds. The two biggest benefits are:
1. As a government agency, they would not have to pay sales taxes on the baskets & misc. equipment.
2. Asking individuals & businesses to donate to our club is a tougher sell than to donate to the ... more

The highlight of the backward glow round at Fairmont tonight was Adam Johnson’s near ACE on the CTP hole. Playing from basket 5 to basket 4, he nailed the facemask and the disc dropped and sat under the basket.
Good Stuff!

thanks! it was definetly some beginners luck on newish course.

Josh Carroll   February 5, 2013 at 11:27pm

1's basket to 9's basket must have been nuts! :P

Jon Tveite   February 6, 2013 at 1:26pm

We didn't use baskets #3 or #9, but there were still some long and interesting holes, e.g. #2 to #1 (watch out, people on #7 and #8!), and #4 to #2. #7 to #6 was tricky because of the big cedar bush (you could only see the light from certain angles).

Light Bulb Moment!
As many of you know, our Sunday league ended today with a couple hours of daylight remaining.
So I thought I would run over to Fairmont Park and see if anything is going on in the expansion area.

Adam was there working on his concept layout. Cool! This excited me because I knew he would be working on a "reverse" layout. In other words, entering and exiting the expansion area in the opposite locations we've used thus far.

I will let Adam debut his "r ... more
