Shout out to the following people for working the DFOK table at last night's Convention & Visitors Bureau event.
- Josh Carroll
- Bill Pryor
- Mark Kewley
- Jon Tveite
- yeah, me too

Making contact with potential fairway sponsors, getting some air time on a local radio station about our club & Fairmont project, not to mention educating tons of people about disc golf in general... was time well spent!

18 Permanent Baskets at Fairmont!!!

In order to install permanent baskets on these fun new holes at Fairmont, DFOK needs to come up with our share of the project costs. Riley County has given us the green light to start our expansion project fundraising. If you know of someone that might want to sponsor a fairway or half a fairway, you can download the information and forms at http://DFOK.US

Or just click here: http://home.wamego.net/kewley/dfok/documents/Fairmont/FairmontDiscGolfSponsorship.pdf

The sooner we get it paid for the sooner we’ll be playing it.

Rick Petrie   May 2, 2013 at 9:32pm

Yep.That's at the Sunset Zoo. Did you hear the live radio spot they did about disc golf?

Rick Petrie    April 29, 2013 at 10:12am

If you're around a radio at 9:30am today, you might want to tune in 1350am.
Disc golf is likely to come up in their conversation.

Shout out to William Mitchell & Kevin Clouse for helping at last night's impromptu Fairmont Workday.
Thanks to last night's efforts, we now have a much cleaner #2 fairway, plus no more knuckle buster tree at the front of the #6 tee pad.

Thats cool. But i think we should put one at the teebox to 14 at tuttle. that way you can restock once you put one in the lake.

Rick Petrie   April 27, 2013 at 8:14am

Josh, That's hilarious & so true. Maybe the bottom rack in the vending machine could be used discs pulled from the lake. (ha)

Rick Petrie    April 25, 2013 at 1:18pm

This is not exactly "news", so I thought I would post it here.

Riley County has begun removing our brush piles from Fairmont Park.

Yeah!

I can bring at least one. I have another at my parents' house that I'll try to grab on my way over there.

Rick Petrie   April 23, 2013 at 8:47pm

If ya can't find enough, I have a couple. However, I can't be there for the duration so arrangements would need to be made.

Kevin Zane   April 26, 2013 at 5:18pm

I have both baskets in my truck. I'll bring them in the morning.

Kevin RevKev Clark    April 23, 2013 at 12:33pm

Please get yourselves registered for "Break the Chains" it is THIS SATURDAY! Pre-registering makes my job LOTS EASIER, plus it WAY SPEEDS UP the time between the last round and the prizes being awarded!

Go to KSULCM.ORG

Thanks!

A tip of the hat to the following people who made time in their schedules to put in some hard work at yesterday's Fairmont Park Work Day.
Jon Tveite

Mark Kewley
Hours of work now to create something countless people will enjoy for decades... time well spent.

(ya, I was there too)

Is break the chains 2013 going to listed on here?

Rick Petrie   April 18, 2013 at 1:41pm

No. Break the Chains is NOT a Disc Fanatics of Kansas event. It is a production of the Lutheran Campus Ministry. You will need to contact Kevin Clark, or watch for it on their page. ( http://www.discgolfscene.com/clubs/Lutheran_Campus_Ministry_at_Kansas_State_University )

Ben Nispel    April 17, 2013 at 6:18pm

Doh! Now I know where everyone is instead of League! (But seriously, thanks for the sale alert)

Travis Bailey   April 17, 2013 at 10:01pm

Just went and checked it out, they are basically cleaned out of Innova. Not seeing anything that suits my fancy in Discraft, but I don't throw very much of it... Happy hunting!

Damen W    April 14, 2013 at 7:35pm

we now have 18 holes...tried to get a full round in today but got interrupted. No tee signs yet on the new holes so if anyone comes down, get a hold of dakota or I and we will be glad to show you around. There are now alternates on 4, 6, soon to be 7, 8, 10, and 13. Technically there are 17 baskets....we are currently using one twice.

Can we get some people to sit with their backs to us next to fairway 3 to make Jon nervous?

Damen W   April 17, 2013 at 11:47am

lol...yes..we should do that. I nominate dakota and austin.

Jon Tveite   April 17, 2013 at 5:31pm

I'm not sure Dakota could sit still long enough for that duty.

Alan Fox    April 14, 2013 at 5:45am

I posted pictures of all the holes at Westmoreland's course today was a good time and if anyone was interested now you can see before you go
