The ACE Race is a great opportunity for photographs for DFOK’s upcoming meeting with the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board on November 5th. If you can snap a few pictures between tosses, please do. Unless we hear otherwise, plan on joining us at the meeting at City Hall (1101 Poyntz) on November 5th at 4:30.
Having a large group makes a difference. This might be the only chance for Warner to be an 18 hole so try and make it!

With talk of the upcoming Night League, looks like I better break out my glow-specific disc golf bag like this guy :P (https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-yePLYGaOouc/UICrqe03Y3I/AAAAAAAACVc/dLi-cikG-68/s640/2012_10_18_21_23.jpg)

I'm bringing somewhere in the ballpark of 200 discs, so you better bust out some of that cash money.

Has anyone thought about donating discs to somewhere? I'm up for the swap meet, but I'm sure some of discs will be still in my box after the swap meet. These discs are probably the ones I'll never use anymore and I cannot play so often in these days, so I'm willing to give away to someone or somewhere (or sell for crushing price) instead of letting them just sit around in my garage. I guess discs will be happy with that. Just wondered if it might be good for growing or helping to expand disc golf community. Let me know if anyone comes up with an idea.

I've got approx. 15 of my discs packed for the DFOK Swap Meet. Some "broken in" & some never thrown before quality discs.
Josh, I might have to by another one of those sweet metal mini's!
Josh Carroll October 18, 2012 at 10:11pm
The K-State Disc Golf Club will have some leftover fundraiser discs and minis available at the swap meet. We've got Milllennium's Astra, Polaris LS, and Omega SuperSoft with Powercat stamps for $20 and purple K-State metal minis for $25!

I just moved my box of discs for the swap meet close to the door.

By the way, I will not be posting tonight's league scores as I need to address a few Ace Race admin. things.
I should get tonight's scores posted tomorrow night.

Sweet video I found that I thought I'd share. A testimonial that disc golf is spreading like wildfire and is here to stay. http://vimeo.com/50806380

The 2012 ACE Race is right around the corner. If you are planning on bringing a basket please try to be at the park by 11:00. If you are not already scheduled to bring a basket, bring it anyhow in case someone doesn't make it. Find me for basket placement. You will want to be there early for the swap meet anyhow, right?

While we're on the topic of the proposed Glow League, I should mention (to all) that I don't anticipate the club setting it up with a highly complex format. After all, we'll be playing that league in darkness, through the chilly winter season... so the simpler the better.
However it will need to have some structure in order to legitimately call it a league, plus a consistent & fun format that will draw people out of hibernation to participate.

Adam, We have not officially defined anything about the proposed Glow League... The tee time, format of play, entry fee (if any), league administrator(s), etc. still need to be set. Regarding the Tee Time, in my opinion, the official Glow League tee time will need to be discussed & officially agreed upon by vote. When we do that, I'll be sure to point out that there's no need to set it as early as our current weeknight league tee times because we know we'll be playing in the dark... af ... more

When we do that, I'll be sure to point out that there's no need to set it as early as our current weeknight league tee times because we know we'll be playing in the dark... after all that's the point. However, the later we set the start time the colder it's going to be, So, I wouldn't think we would want to start very late...
Feel free to chime in with your proposed start time so we can start considering our needs prior to our league set-up meeting.

Yeah what he said, I'm digging the idea of Tuesdays.
Rick Petrie October 11, 2012 at 10:03pm
Yep. We discussed the daylight savings time dates at length in our spring DFOK meetings...
I think setting the day for the upcoming DFOK Glow League, along with the other glow league rules, should be set at the next DFOK meeting.
