Alan Fox    October 3, 2013 at 1:19pm

Fixed hole 11 long since it was really tall,, put new placement on 14 since someone stole it, and put in a brand new placement for hole 16 at tuttle today! Hole 4 and 10s flags are being fixed as we speak!

Travis Bailey   October 3, 2013 at 5:59pm

So the concrete that was old Long 11 is now at the alternate pin for new 16? Just curious.

Alan Fox    October 2, 2013 at 7:11pm

Just so everyone is aware we have taken hole 4 and hole 10 from Tuttle to matc to get the flags that some Unpleasant name decided to break off also going to get some placements to fix the ones that have been taken and destroyed

Alan, I think you must have been typing your "price quote" text at the same time I was typing my "baskets falling apart" text. Either way it works out, the more courses the better!

Alan Fox   October 2, 2013 at 11:58pm

baskets arent falling apart.... its dumb people with no respect breaking the flag sticks off and people stealing the placements

nick samuelson   October 3, 2013 at 6:51am

allen would u find out a price for 9 more i would like to help westy get up to speed in the game

Rick Petrie    September 30, 2013 at 10:56am

Anybody available tonight to help move baskets to alternate pin placements? I'm talking Warner & Fairmont...

I'm pretty flexible on which course first & starting any time after 4:30ish.

Rick Petrie   September 30, 2013 at 2:39pm

Start at Warner at 5:45, then Fairmont following.u00a0If you like playing, you'll like helping move baskets.

Mark Kewley    September 29, 2013 at 1:05pm

Following the Chiefs game, I'm planning to walk Fairmont looking at ACE Race hole ideas. Anyone want to join me?

Rick Petrie   September 29, 2013 at 3:22pm

I would but I'm thinking it would be best if I don't help. The more events we host (or co-host), the more we need other people to start helping plan & run official DFOK stuff.

Rick Petrie   September 29, 2013 at 3:22pm

That and I'm sure y'all will come up with a fun Ace Race temp. course.

Rick Petrie    September 29, 2013 at 11:47am

The first of the month is almost here...

Anybody want to help me Monday evening move some baskets to alternate placements?
(There's way to many at Fairmont & Warner for me to do them solo anymore.)

I'm thinking start at Warner around 5pm, then move to Fairmont next... but I'm flexible.
If you only want to help with some of them, that's okay. Any help will be appreciated.

Hit me up.

Alan Fox    September 27, 2013 at 7:45pm

nick samuelson   September 28, 2013 at 3:59am

Alan Fox   September 28, 2013 at 12:16pm

Kevin RevKev Clark    September 27, 2013 at 12:43pm

Only 16 registered so far for the 2013 Ace Race. 48 registered last year. Please pass the word, registration deadline is Monday!

Mark Kewley    September 26, 2013 at 10:01pm

Rick Petrie, thanks for putting together the DFOK meeting at the Manhattan Public Library tonight!

If anyone would like to help build Disc Golf courses and plan events, please keep an eye on this site for future meetings.

Ben Nispel    September 26, 2013 at 12:10am

This is pretty awesome.

Mark Kewley   September 26, 2013 at 10:02pm

Go Bulldogs!

Mark Kewley    September 25, 2013 at 7:31pm

ACE Race Reminder: You need to sign up by the 30th to play. That is 5 days!

Rick Petrie   September 25, 2013 at 8:02pm

True that!

Alan Fox    September 25, 2013 at 10:48am

Rick Petrie    September 20, 2013 at 2:17pm

Anybody interested in helping install the final two pin placements at Fairmont Park tomorrow morning?
It would be nice to finish up that part of the Fairmont Park couree expansion project.

It's going easy work, plus it is supposed to be nice and cool out, so it should take long at all.

How about starting around 10am? That should get us done by lunch time.

Rick Petrie   September 22, 2013 at 9:56am

It went well. We installed #13 short & #16 long ground sleeves, thus we're finally done with that part of the project.

Rick Petrie   September 22, 2013 at 10:02am

While we were in the concrete mixing mood, we also repacked the dirt around the Practice Basket, then added a 60 pound "collar" of concrete around the top of the base to stabilize it for the

Rick Petrie   September 22, 2013 at 10:05am

...stabilize it for the ages.

Rick Petrie    September 19, 2013 at 11:29pm

It's shaping up to be fun & busy fall season of disc golf activities in the Manhattan area.
Something for everyone...

I'm loving it!

Mark Kewley    September 19, 2013 at 10:23pm

I noticed that Manhattan KS is one of the latest additions on the ACE Race site: http://discgolfacerace.com/index.html Thanks RevKev!

If you would like to help set up the modified Fairmont ACE Race course and / or have a portable basket that could be used, send me a message through this website with your email address. Start thinking of some good holes we could set up!

Dimond Cutter    September 19, 2013 at 3:07pm

Lost my phone at Fairmont last night (WED 18th)

Travis Bailey   September 19, 2013 at 6:23pm

any idea what hole? heading there now.

Rick Petrie   September 19, 2013 at 9:07pm

Played Fairmont 1 thru 10 tonight. Did not see any phone. I'm out there a lot & will keep my eyes open for it.

William Mitchell    September 14, 2013 at 5:51pm

Anyone want to play a round around 5:30 pm? The only catch is I need a ride to and from home...Anyone?

Troy Pike    September 11, 2013 at 11:37pm

Hey does anyone around here plan on playing in the Mighty Shunga Tournament in Topeka on September 21-22?

Rick Petrie   September 12, 2013 at 7:37pm

BTW, be careful about carpooling on the day you play Shunga & Crestview. The temp. Shunga course is far enough away from Crestview that you have to drive to it, then swap after the lunch break... It could be a problem if you're not playing the same course at the same time.

Mark Kewley   September 12, 2013 at 8:34pm

And don't carpool to the tournament with Rick unless he brings a sack lunch.

Rick Petrie   September 12, 2013 at 9:10pm

LOL. Ya there's not a lot of places to grab a [quick] lunch on the east side of Lake Shawnee. (Ooops last year)

Rick Petrie    September 11, 2013 at 10:42pm

I have a Fairmont Park on Disc Golf Scene question. In my opinion, the way discgolfscene.com shows a course with alternate pin placements is kind of "messed up". More specifically, when it comes to displaying fairway lengths... if you take a look, it only lets you enter one fairway length per fairway, even if you rotate baskets around from time to time. The only way around this is to have a course layout to choose from for every possible combination. Yikes! With that in mind, ... more

In my opinion, i'd prefer to remove all the distances from score card if it's confusing. Simple is better.

Rick Petrie   September 12, 2013 at 7:30am

Daisuke, I like that idea. We will eventually have the tee box sign artwork posted, which will show all the fairway distances. Not ideal, but like we said that's not exactly the focus of this site anyway.

Jon Tveite   September 17, 2013 at 11:00am

Yeah, I agree with Daisuke. We should just post a picture of the various position distances and not try to cram that information into the website's format.

Robert Adams    September 11, 2013 at 10:40am

Hey everyone, saw something over here that I thought I'd share. So I'm coming back in from a mission and I'm on short final returning to base. I'm looking around to clear the aircraft of obstacles, and off to the left, something catches my eye...something unmistakable for people such as us. I'd recognize that shape anywhere...Lo and behold, there's a home made basket sitting on the taxiway on a crappy little base in the middle of Afghanistan, haha. So after we shut ... more

Hi Rob, must be Disc Fanatics of Afghanistan

Rick Petrie   September 11, 2013 at 10:04pm

Cool. You could host a Disc Fanatics of Afghanistan event. If that were actually important over there. Godspeed.

Rick Petrie   September 11, 2013 at 10:14pm

Kewley, Did you hack into my computer and watch my key strokes or something?
