I am willing to start another $50 group to sponsor a half fariway at Fairmont. I need 4 more people to get in on this with me. And as I have been informed by Rick time is of the essence so lets get this money together so we can have our names etched in metal forever.

thats great alan

Rick Petrie   June 25 at 11:10am

Scott, Jon is up to speed with this, I think he just wanted everyone to know what they are agreeing to/what recognition they're getting for their donation.

Rick Petrie   June 25 at 10:49pm

FYI, Alan finished up this group of five tonight before doubles league. Good Job Alan! Watch for official DFOK News later tonight.

Hey everybody, the Sunflower State Games disc golf tournament (in Topeka) is only 3 weeks away.

It offers one of the few doubles tournaments Kansas each year, on Saturday. The a standard rules Singles event on the following Sunday. If you medal (1st, 2nd or 3rd) you are then qualified to participate in the State Games of America!

Greeting on this Thursday lunch hour (for me at least). I have some news that's still "developing", but not locked down with check in hand just yet. Therefore I'm going to keep it vague and post it on this Talk tab. This morning I received another verbal commitment for a Full Fairway! Considering the organization, it's a 95% lock! That means we only have 2 more fairways to go! (Technically it's shown as 1 Full + 2 Half fairways, but we can do some shuffling if needed). So if you're ... more

Rick Petrie   June 20 at 2:41pm

Revise that. one more Half fairway sponsor locked in their spot over the lunch hour today. We're in the home stretch now! Unly 1.5 fairways to go!

Travis Bailey    June 18 at 4:30am

After not playing Warner in nearly 1.5 months, I've learned that the new hazards on hole 6 like to eat discs. Took me a solid 30 minutes to find it. Avoid them at all costs. Haha!

Hello All,

A local Geocash enthusiast, that I met a while back while promoting disc golf, has asked me to pass along information about an upcoming event. It is called "The KC Disc Golf And Geocaching Mashup".

It is set to take place at "Lake Olathe from 8AM to 5PM on the 22nd of June". From the sounds of things it combines Disc Golf with Geochashing. It sounds like it could be pretty interesting, however I will not be able to attend.

Anybody care to join me tomorrow morning to do a little light work at Fairmont? We need to rake some recently cut leaves of the "fairway" areas of #2 & "6. Don't worry, it won't even take an hour if we have 3 or 4 people. I'll even bring rakes. I've got enough for 5 DFOKers.

Ya know we need it clear for Tuesday night.

If anyone knows anyone who lost a set of car keys out at Fairmont let me know Me and Roberto Santiago were playing today and he found a set of keys

Rick Petrie   June 12 at 6:34pm

Hey everyone. Help these keys get back to their owner.

Rick Petrie    June 12 at 1:21am

Found: Clouse disc on #13. Glow Innova driver of some sort. I'll get it back to you ASAP.

Found: My drive from #16 tonight. Turns out I bombed it out to the water!

Lost: My neon green, KDGA stamp, Innova Champion driver. It should be "just off the bank" on #13.

Thanks

Sweet action

Rick Petrie   June 12 at 12:25am

I really enjoyed playing the Pre-Stampede Tuttle course tonight. The added "danger" of the temp. fences a couple weeks each year make playing it a real treat.

Rick Petrie   June 12 at 12:26am

By the way. It was decided that starting next week, the Tuttle Tuesdays will be temporarily re-located to Fairmont Park. Yes, we will be playing the newly remodeled full 18 hole course. Stay tuned for details.

Alan Fox    June 7 at 12:19pm

Okay so time is set 4:30pm Saturday at Tuttle Creek bring your discs to sell/trade or money to buy aka a swap meet. After its done I know most of us are gonna play a round. The more the better so spread the word

hope to see a good amount of people

Rick Petrie   June 8 at 3:18pm

Unless I get really lazy, I'm probably going to bring my welder to fix basket #18. Hopefully a guy or two can help me steady the basket for a couple minutes...

Rick Petrie   June 8 at 3:22pm

... and I am going to bring some discs, a small DG bag, a new Innova Hat & mixed brand DG shirts too (never worn tourney payout swag).

Alan Fox    June 6 at 1:38am

Say something ...Anyone want to meet out at Tuttle around noon this Saturday and do some buy/sell/and trades? Be a good time to get rid of stuff you don't throw and have a chance to get into a whole bag of stuff you will throw?

Are there any good tourneys going on July 20th in Kansas?

Rick Petrie   June 5 at 10:10pm

The KDGA Schedule is showing "Saturday, July 20- Ellsworth". See here --> http://kansasdiscgolf.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=4762

Rick Petrie    June 5 at 8:53am

Shout out to the Manhattan Convention and Visitors Bureau for mentioning "Frisbee Golf", aka Disc Golf, in this month's video of things to do in Manhattan.

78 Total players today. I am counting (at least) 20 DFOK members.

Good job to everyone in continuing to support disc golf in our local area.

In addition, I at sign-in today, I heard Tom Thompson asking Smitty why it's been down. Smitty was unaware of it, but it's not like he's had much reason to look at it lately.

Daisuke Takahashi   June 2 at 10:42pm

Looks like top page is down, but I can still visit forum page. http://kansasdiscgolf.com/forum/

Mark Kewley   June 2 at 10:44pm

It's working for me now. Sometimes it doesn't load right though.

Adam Cossette    June 2 at 5:00pm

Is there a lost disc forum for Manhattan?

I ended up leaving my brand new MVP Vector on the fairway of #9 at Warner this weekend. It has a ridiculous dyemax picture of my cat on the front, so hard to miss. :(

If anyone happens to come across it, I would gladly pay for shipping to Kansas City. Thanks.

Rick Petrie   June 2 at 9:14pm

Mr. Cossette, This is probably the best spot to post that sort of info about lost in discs in Manhattan. Hey everybody, if you find this disc just let me know & I can ship it back.

Rick Petrie   June 2 at 9:16pm

Were you in town just to play disc golf, or did something else bring you to Manhattan?

Rick Petrie    June 1 at 11:32pm
