Canyon & Highland Closed Durring Tournament 8/4 8/5

FYI the canyon course will be closed August 4th & 5th for the 2012 Chick Flick from 8:30am to 5pm, and will be open in the evenings both days. The Highland will be closed Saturday afternoon from 1pm to 4pm, and the Highland will be closed Saturday from 8am to 5pm. The Meadow Ridge course will be open all weekend.

With the Chick Flick just a few days away we wanted to send an email to answer some questions we have received. Sorry this is wordy, but please take a second to read it. Also if you signed up for another player or caddie please pass this information along to them.

It's going to be HOT. Please bring a water bottle for your round. We will not have water bottles available. There will be some water available on the course but be prepared with the water you think you'll need as it tends to run out quickly during hot rounds. There are faucets available to fill your bottles before the round

Checking in for players/caddies/guests: Please check in when you arrive. Each player needs to check in herself in order to pick up their player pack Check in is at the big tent by the practice basket. You'll see it, don't worry. At check in you can pick up your player's pack, wristband for camping/lunches, purchase raffle tickets, and ask any questions you may have about the weekend.
Check in will be available Friday night from 5:30-7 PM, Saturday 8-8:45AM, and Sunday from 8-8:15 AM

Camping locations: General group camping is available below hole 14 on the canyon course. Quiet camping is located near hole 1 of the Meadow Ridge course. You must park your car and carry your gear to the spot (100-300ft) you can not drive into the camping area. Space is limited in the camping areas. Please place your tents as close as possible to other tents. Make a new friend if you arrive late and don't see an obvious spot.
EVERYONE IN THE GROUP CAMPING AREAS NEED TO HAVE A WRISTBAND. SEE TOURNAMENT CENTRAL FOR THIS.
Below is the schedule for the weekend. It will also be posted at tournament central. Please be on time for the players meeting Sunday morning and come to tournament central to sign up on a playing card. Keep in mind that the Sunday rounds are PDGA tournament rounds. This means that PDGA rules need to be followed on Sunday (we will go over these). This also means that in order to respect other player's concentration needs, young children and dogs are not allowed on the course. This is only during the Sunday rounds.

We will have schedules at tournament central. No need to memorize this.

April Chick Flick Sunday the 15th @ Horning's Hideout

April's Chick Flick will be Sunday the 15th at Horning's Hideout 10am. Lets meet at tee pad #1 of the Canyon course. We will play one round on the Canyon course, and then maybe a double round on the Highland course. The guys are welcome to accompany the ladies, but they will have to play amongst themselves while we play our Chick Flick rounds. So, What exactly is a Women's Global Event, you ask?

Here are the details: On May 12, 2012 women from all around the world will play two rounds of disc golf during their local global event. The scores for the two rounds will be submitted and rated by the PDGA. The round ratings will be added to determine the player's "Global Score."

For the rounds to qualify the event must include two rounds on the same layout on the same course and also have five players rated 800+ (male or female) to keep the ratings consistent across the competition. The global scores will be updated and ranked throughout the day to find our overall Women's Global Event Champions.

We will be offering all Pro and Am divisions and you do not have to be a current PDGA member to play, and the $10 non member fee will be waived for this event. This event has been coordinated to make it as accessible as possible to encourage more women to get out and play!!

Registration fees are $15 for amateurs, and $20 for pros. Each player who signs up will receive 1 Innova & 1 Discraft disc in their players pack. Amateurs will be awarded prizes & pros will be playing for cash. Be sure to sign up before April 12th to ensure you will reicive a players pack.

November's Chick Flick will be Sunday the 20th at Milo McIver State Park tee pad #1 west at 10am. I won't be able to make it this month because I will be at Horning's helping with the Chick Flick fundraiser lunch for Sunday team disc golf. If someone wants to do the bag tags that would be great. First Chick Flick bag tag match for 2011

It's time to kick off the 2011 Chick Flick bag tag league. We will have our first match this Sunday January 23rd at Horning's Hideout. We will be meeting at 10am at tee #1 of the Canyon course. 2011 Chick Flick montlies

For 2011 we have decided to have the Chick Flick monthlies every 3rd Sunday teeing off at 10am. We will be picking a different course each month. The one month that will not be the 3rd Sunday will be August since the 2011 Chick Flick will be August 13th & 14th at Horning’s Hideout this will be considered the Chick Flick for August. November Chick Flick

The November Chick Flick will be Sunday November 21st at Dabney. We will meet at 10am hole #1. It might not be very good potluck weather, so maybe we can go out somewhere after the rounds. Also remember this is a State Park, so you will have to pay the day use fee unless you have a pass. Also there are no dogs allowed in this park.

Our plan is to be working from 9:00am SHARP to 1:00pm at which point we will break for a BBQ lunch provided by Stumptown Disc Golf and grilled up by Master Chef Jordan Lewis... Ok, maybe he's not a "master" chef, but he is willing and that has to count for something.

This work party will be tackling the back nine holes. While they are pretty rough right now, we're confident we can whip these holes into playable shape. We will be prepping the greens for chips, clearing paths and fairways of debris and trimming branches to open up the fairways .

So if you can make it, please gather at Hill Top Day Use Area promptly at 9:00am on 10/17/10.

We will meet at hole one on the Canyon course at 10am. This first round will also be an official Chick Flick bag tag match, so hopefully we will get a lot of tag holders out there for this one. February Virtual Chick Flick

Hey guys the attendees of January's Chick Flick decided to do something a little different for February's Chick Flick. We are going virtual We will be meeting at Teresa's house in Vancouver for some wii Tiger Woods disc golf action, snacks, mini golf, and some putting in the yard. This will be an all chick event, so the men can stay behind to watch the super bowl. This will be a potluck, so bring a yummy to share. 3rd Annual Chick Flick 2010

Hey Ladies we have some news about the 3rd annual Chick Flick for 2010. The dates we are looking at are August 7th & 8th. We are currently working on a location, so stay tuned for that. We are also looking into the possibility of PDGA sactioning for the Sunday tournament. This year the Chick Flick will have co-tournament directors: Celeste Scandiffio & Cindy McMahan who will both be TDing for the first time. We will have some of the ladies who have been helping out for the last two years ... more

October Chick Flick location changed

We have changed the location of the Oct. Chick Flick to North Bonneville Oct. 18th at 11am. The guys are welcome to come and play on their own while the girls play their Chick Flick round. Then for those who wish to can play a 2nd mixed doubles round, or choose to play a 2nd Chick round. No potluck just bring a lunch for yourself if you like, and then afterwards for those who wish to can go to the Walking Man pub.

Ok the vedict is in the May Chickflick will be Sunday May 17th at Milo. Lets meet at 11am at 1W, so we can play the 27. It will be crowded, so we will for sure have to break up into smaller groups. Their is enough of us that know our way around, so every group should have a guide. Lets all bring something to share because that worked out so awesome last month.

We play most anywhere. We choose a place each month to play singles/doubles, depending on how many of us show up. It's usually on a Saturday during any given month. We will start posting them here as soon as we know about them. We've played Timber in Estacada, Pier in St Johns, Leverich in Vancouver, WA; Horning's Hideout in North Plains, Vance/Rockwood in Portland, Willamette in Corvallis, and so on. We are now meeting to plan our 2009 Tournament, which will be at Milo McGiver Park for two ... more
