Thanks to all that came out to thank Jeri and Mike for all they have done for us. Also thanks to Amy and Jason Lord for hosting the party - they put in a lot of work to make us all feel welcome! Thanks to everyone for bringing all the great food - I'd have felt way worse Sunday morning if I had not eaten as much as I did during the course of the evening. Still waiting for the recipe from Ross......

I'd also like to mention that I had the least amount of left over beer Sunday from any keg I have ever bought. We polished off 13.5 gallons of Oberon Saturday night!!! That's an accomplishment! Way to go team!

I would also like to thank you all for electing me as the club president. I hope that I can live up to the standards that Jeri and Mike have set for me. I don't think there is a better, more organized club in Michigan and I hope to help keep it that way. I know there is no club with a better group of people than we have and we can accomplish anything we want if we work together. Feel free to tell me if something is concerning you and I'll do my best to make it right.

There - my "rah, rah!" speech is over. I'll try to keep them to a minimum in the future.

Looks like this years ace race prototype "is a fast, overstable midrange. It has good speed for a mid, longer glide than you'll expect, and a medium strong finish. When you turn it over it will always come back unless you really torque it. Will hold a line in a moderate to strong headwind." Sounds like the Ace Race this year is gonna be a blast, especially running a mid-range prototype disc at the basket! One more reason to get your pre-registraion up on the scene! Or you can call the TD Chad Lantz (517) 543-5578 as well and let him know who you are and how many you are bringning with you. Remember, we have to order ourpackages in advance so you have to pre-register, this is to ensure that we have enough packages available for all who want to participate this year. I would hate to see soemone get turned away because we did not have enough packages available

Ace Race time is just around the corner! Last year we had 60+ come out to have a great time. For those who are new to the event. An Ace Race is not a traditional disc golf tournament. It is geared for disc golfers of every skill level! Every one gets two of the same disc and has many opportunities to make an ace. Beginers and pros alike are encouraged to come out and play. For 25 bucks its a awesome value. So bring everyone you can to this event. Just make sure you pre-register yourself and anyone you plan on bringing with you. You can pre-register by clicking the link abouve that says "Ace Race". Jumbo putts for extra prizes at the end of the tournament as well. This is a fundraiser event and designed to bring awarness to the sport so please come join the fun. September 12th 2010 @ Lincoln Park in Charlotte.

The club still has some left over CFR's from the LP Open. Prices on them have dropped. Talk to Mike or Jeri!

Three new holes have been added at Lincoln Park! They are on the back, and we suggest playing them in this order: 12, 13, A, 14, 15, B, C, 16-18. They are dirt pads for now, with an orange-painted timber marking the front of the pad. Signs will be forthcoming, and concrete hopefully next year.

Also, the pin location for holes 10, 12, and 15 have changed!

Thanks for all the volunteers who helped make this possible! Look for 3 more holes later this fall, too.

Did anyone from the Saturday league today pick up Mike's 2 discs with the Detroit Tigers "D" on them? Please let him know since they are currently missing from his bag. Thanks!

We had a winner of the ace pool this past Sunday Congratulations go out to Mike Hubbel. Hitting an Ace on hole number 5 with a right backhand throw!

We officially have 8 berths to the MDGO State Championship to give away as a club. We'll have to purchase the berth packages from the MDGO, then they can count toward payouts when we give them out in tournaments. The plan is to distribute a couple at the LP Open on May 1, and the others through the summer league.

The Charlotte Rotary Club is hosting Holiday Hoopla!, a goods and services silent auction fundraiser, at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 7 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 123 St. Mary Blvd., Charlotte.

The Charlotte Rotary Club has taken the initiative to enhance the Charlotte Area Parks and Recreation facilities by committing to construct a $100,000 pavilion/restroom facility in Charlotte's Lincoln Park. Currently, Lincoln Park offers a skateboard park, Frisbee golf, volleyball courts, and a winter ice skating rink.

Holiday Hoopla! activities will include a silent auction, raffle, door prizes, Taste of Charlotte hors d'oeuvres, cash bar, live music with Blind Ambition, and a dance performance by Dancing Deputies.

Just a reminder... Winter leagues begin this Saturday (November 7th) at Ten a.m. If you wish you wish to join just show up to Lincoln Park with Ten bucks for the League fee and a dollar for the Ace pool if you want!

Looks like I miss posted the videotape event it will be on Sunday the 11th! not on Saturday the 10th. Bill is asking for 2 dollars to cover cost of creating a dvd that you can play on your home tv. If you just want something you can plug into a computer bring your own thumb drive / flash card to store the information on.

On the advice of John Bentling, CDGA will be holding a videotape feedback event on October 10th at 10 a.m. Bill Albin will be setting up his video camera and recording players as they throw. This will give these players an opertunity to review there technique and give them a great tool for improving your game. Bill will be burning dvds or bring a thumb drive / storage card for even faster results.

Alright everyone! A winter league is coming... Going to keep it fairly informal this time around. Ten dollars per player, no players packs and a dollar into the ace pool. No player divisions, handicaps this time around as well. Everyone who played a full twelve rounds for our summer league will have handicaps already established. If not it can be done within a couple of rounds into the league season. Saturday mornings at ten is the time slot and will be starting in November. We decided to rotate courses this time as well. We will start off at Lincoln Park for the first Saturday and rotate to a surrounding course for the next week and then back to Lincoln again. Should be lots of fun and we hope to see as many of you as possible. Great way to keep your arms hot through the winter!. Contact Mike Hubbel for any additional questions.

I picked up the sign for #7 today while I was out. It was out of the ground so before somebody walked away with it I put it in my car. I will pick up come quick dry for Sunday so what we can cement it. Look for other signs this week that we need to cement. Thanks Jason
