Does anybody know at this time what the game plan at Taloali is for tomorrow for sure? Who is lead on this project at this time and anybody been in touch with them on plan?

Curious to have some idea what to look forward to, good and current information is a very good thing.

Thank you,

Steve

today was awesome and i hope to get another couple of these things done. the scotch broom is easy to pull out with the weed wrenches. we could literally pull everyone out there in less than 20-2 hr sessions. i know a lot of people don't like keizer becuase of the poison oak but it doesn't grow in the scotch broom. once a couple of you see what we did to the pond in just 2 hours you'll be amazed. scotch broom is the number one problem at keizer, even over poison oak. my goal is 2 more pulling fests in the next month. let's do this!

Big thanks to Chris W, Chris M, Ugh massa and myself for what 4 of us accomplished this morning at Keizer. Along with the group that was there for earth day the lake now has lots less Scotch Broom. Still lots more to do on course so lets show our support better and help with course development and maintenance. Other wise our courses will become unplayable, at least unenjoyable. Take a look at Woodmansee in its current cleaned up status and that would be a nice goal to shoot for on all our co ... more

*** Update Good news *** It's official, after some dealing with the powers to be and a parks meeting last night, the bridge at Woodmansee hole 6/15 is open to traffic for now as of this morning. In celebration of this I spent today on course for cleaning tees, trails, and landing zones on full course. Also had a nice round and met part of the Oregon State disc club team that was practicing up our way today. My next mission is to try and get a mowing schedule worked out with them, not g ... more

**** News Flash *****

I just received word this morning from parks operation supervisor that the bridege at Woodmansee will be reopened until new replacement put in. I feel I have reached some success at this point and will now see how soon it is unlocked. I hope that this will be the beginning of a new and good communication with the parks department.

I'm very jealous that this league got started after I moved. Have fun everyone and congratulations to Jason and everyone else that helped get this started. I might come down and join you guys sometime this summer when I don't have class on Thursday nights.

yeah, all parks no matter how far along or not all need more done. i'll be at taloali getting it ready for the tourney. but huge plans for adair. also nate (snap) but i don't think the parks have ANYTHING to do with taloali, private land and all.

That would be my guess also. We have our own work party scheduled for Taloali that weekend that I hope we get our folks to. I agree otherwise it would be good to show our support since many of us play there. Either way maintenance at all courses is very important and a big factor as to the enjoyment that can be found at a well maintained course and one that has been forgotton about.

I think they are talking about Adair. Nate = Nate Sexton, grounds keeper for Adair. There is a big oak log on hole 3 at Adair, etc.

Nice day at Woodmansee course for round and to finish other half of cleanup of course. Finished raking and cleaning for this go around, looking pretty good again. Still like help getting rest of barkdust spread to justify another load this fall to use before winter. Plenty of areas to use up what we have now so lets get it spread please. *** Update on bridge closure and dead tree on fairway 2 *** Just got done with contact from Parks Operations Supervisor and current status is: Bridge ... more

So a random thought came into my head this morning. Could be EPIC, could be FAIL...why not have some HANGING BASKETS in alt locations at Keizer and Taloali? Pleanty of trees to hang them by...any suggestions on which holes? Could be kool right? Could be something else for CCDG to be known for? IDK just a thought.

Spent nice sunny day out at Woodmansee today, 1st for a quick round and then rest of day trying to get things cleaned up after last winds came thru area. Lots of raking around tee pads and baskets as usual. Took longer then planned on so only got to about 1/2 of course. Looking pretty good again but as said before, lot's of barkdust to spread on trails and such, needs it bad in areas that were not done yet. Areas that I did get done are holding up much better then those areas not done. I ... more
