Pretty sad that people don't donate when they play but I think the camp should take in to consideration what the player of Capital City do for them. I have heard of work parties and free labor work that is going to be done installing tee pads and the form to make the tee pads. Well I don't care how good the course is if they are going to lock it down because the TD of the last tourney didn't put money in the box well maybe we shouldn't play there. Just saying Really what loss of money is the ... more

Cabins are available, but at the normal $40 per cabin per night. I will be up there Saturday night. Bring your metal baskets, I will need 5 or 6 baskets for the tournament. Season passes will be available Sunday from Richard the caretaker. Taloali is now a "pay to play" course because of the lack of donations. Had people respected the "donation box" concept, it would still be donation instead of "Pay to play".... But just fork over a few bucks or buy the season pass. There will be times you wi ... more

Just getting back in after 7 hour day at Woodmansee for course cleanup. Got most of the cleanup of leaves, debris, etc in playing areas like I've done in past. Lots of folks there playing but no helpers, oh well. Always still plenty here and at all courses that need to be done. Lets all disc golfers in area pull together and get these things done and finished. Contact me here or however if you don't know how to go about helping, be glad to teach you.

Enjoy the course and hope to see some of you this weekend at events.

Thank you

Steve

I need to correct an ealier comment I made about the 20 dollar annual pass and donation box. The $ from pass goes to the roads and porta johns (planned when money there after passes bought) which benefits everyone. Will be happy to discuss anything disc golf related in the area at anytime with anyone for reasonable conversation. Let's just all learn how to play nicely together and show each other some respect. Courses do not happen by themselves and do require upkeep, all of it costs dollars ... more

I F'in love TALOALI!!!! There is really no other course like it I have seen to this point. I thought about this a ton last night because the thought of not being able to freely access the course when its open scares me, so I wanted to chime in on a few thoughts. 1st: Rooster makes a VERY important point about how financially invested the club truly can be in Taloali simply because there is no guarantee that the members who help raise that ca$h (through membership or what have you) will be ab ... more

Seems to me if Taloali has had to get to the point of even thinking about locking gates, it's because it's been brought on by all disc golfers who have used and abused some simple policies and requests both in past and presently. It's also a failure of CCDG as we have not stepped up in my opinion as a caretaker of the course. As far as the porta pottys I believe that is part of what Nates funds from this upcoming weekends events is going towards. Also the teepads were committed to as a grou ... more

If Taloali staff are making statements of closing the course to the public, is that where the club should spend it's funds to install concrete tee pads? Yes, I love Taloali, but statements of locking out the people that paid for part of the course through membership fees? Maybe the club needs to rethink it's investment into Taloali... Maybe a fundraiser Tourny to fund the porta-potty? Anyway, it's not good to hear threats of locking gates!

I stand with the Prez! I believe that he's the bet person for the job, in the club and with the public, and I appreciate his leadership and commitment. It's a tuff go when members are focused on failure.

Hopefullythe annual passes will be available this weekend at Nate's falling leaves event. Would have been handy to of had them available this last weekend, missed a good chance to get bunch sold. Maybe club could look into investing in 5-10 to be sold at events and meetings and such.

Seems to me that it wasn't done, as for hosting a tourney I have and will again in the spring. I see that someone has some kind of guilt showing if they cant take constructive criticism from members who have decided not to like what they see coming from the board. What seems to me is that a club has gotten to big for their own good or maybe for the people running. By this I mean they don't have the people skills to handle the public side of things but may be good with the business side of things. It's a shame that we as a club have put our self in this predicament.

I am planning on being at Woodmansee course this Wednesday for a good part of the day. Will be doing general cleanup on trails and basket areas. Also will have Wheelbarrow with me in case able to move some bark chips as needed. If anyone would care to join me could use wheelbarrows, shovels, rakes and such. I should be on course by 11:00 looks like and spend afternoon till I burn out. If you can make it be happy to see you there.

Thanks,

Steve

seems clear to me that if chris had left the regular layout at cascade then he would have had an advantage. instead it was a course none of us had ever played.

wilcox you did a great job running the finale. ofcourse i had my concerns with cascade and i did see a couple people come and then leave frustrated. it was a fun layout ill admit. as for the the taloali issue i figured as much. this should have been worked out with the camp, TD and GREENSKEEPER! Wow I totally see that the TD was the one who dropped the ball on this one. What should have happened was first the TD should have contacted the camp and made arrangements to have a group out there at that time along with getting the cost to use all the facilities including the picnic area. Then they should have taken that money from the funds and if the cost was to much they needed to reconsider hosting an event there. I guess that's just what you get when you let the power hungry run thing ... more
