THE "BEAST" OF THE WOODS    October 20, 2012 at 11:15am

Come out to Woodmansee today for the RIVAL CLUBS # 4 and support CCDG in the series. Grandmasters, masters, women, and JR are needed! I will be there at 9am to help and organize the CCDG FLIGHT CREW game plan.

The idea of an online petition is a viral effect for exponential growth through email and Facebook. If a majority of the signatures were national it would clearly show a tourism demand and I could easily find funding for that.

For the petition, Jason, you might need to put it in the hands of several people and move the petition from tournament to tournament. You could also advertise it at several business and schools. Just some ideas.

Well the Battle Creek Petition has stalled at 124 signatures... I was hoping it would gain some momentum and provide some leverage to get funding... Back to the drawing board again I guess

Capital City Disc Golf has proven rather effective at collecting money and making good use of that money for events jackpots that benefit SOME of the players. It seems to me CCDG could afford to negotiate with the Camp Taloali owners for a annual membership for the club that would allow for a set number of CCDG hosted events without parking fees for players. The idea that Camp Taloali will be able to profit or break even for that mater on the disc golf course with "donations" or parking fees is ... more

I don't agree that Bill is being a moron for sharing his opinion... I don't have to agree with all of his opinion to respect his opinion. With that said... I'm glad the donation idea is gone, a manditory donation is not a donation imo.

How much will it cost for parking now? Will it be one fee for all day parking? Or per round? This all needs to be clarified...

Remember when you all enjoyed it and didnt just sit and **** online? Just chill out people and just enjoy life and enjoy being able to play discgolf. spend more time bangin chains out on the course instead of complaining.

You know Kyle I am in business and know business, what I was getting at was that the people running the club are not and they also believe they are right. I understand that we all need to contribute to the daily operations of the course and I appreciate that. I completely understand that the camp has extra expenses with mowing and tree removal, I also understand that the TD didn't follow threw with getting the express written approval in writing to have all the people there and the use of the pi ... more

Kyle, good to hear you are still around, hope all is well.

You just saved me alot of typing in your explanation, lot's of what I was about to say.

Lots of history that lots of folks don't know but let's work as a group to get good done wherever we can.

It will only be the best for all of us in long run.

Bill, I would suspect that the frustration on their end is more of a long term problem of people not donating as much as they would expect and this is just a particularly frustrating example. If your looking long term, and all businesses are, with the total installation costs (clearing, mowing, tree removal, concrete, etc.), regular gas for the mower/tractor and other equipment, depreciation and maintenance of said equipment, any other out of the ordinary maintenance costs, property taxes for ... more

Pretty sad that people don't donate when they play but I think the camp should take in to consideration what the player of Capital City do for them. I have heard of work parties and free labor work that is going to be done installing tee pads and the form to make the tee pads. Well I don't care how good the course is if they are going to lock it down because the TD of the last tourney didn't put money in the box well maybe we shouldn't play there. Just saying Really what loss of money is the ... more

Cabins are available, but at the normal $40 per cabin per night. I will be up there Saturday night. Bring your metal baskets, I will need 5 or 6 baskets for the tournament. Season passes will be available Sunday from Richard the caretaker. Taloali is now a "pay to play" course because of the lack of donations. Had people respected the "donation box" concept, it would still be donation instead of "Pay to play".... But just fork over a few bucks or buy the season pass. There will be times you wi ... more

Just getting back in after 7 hour day at Woodmansee for course cleanup. Got most of the cleanup of leaves, debris, etc in playing areas like I've done in past. Lots of folks there playing but no helpers, oh well. Always still plenty here and at all courses that need to be done. Lets all disc golfers in area pull together and get these things done and finished. Contact me here or however if you don't know how to go about helping, be glad to teach you.

Enjoy the course and hope to see some of you this weekend at events.

Thank you
