Yay!!! GO poitive, and productive disc golfers. Thank you Thad Chris G, and John for some intelligent ideas, and then also a big THANK YOU to the one woman in the state whom has been around for, and woked hard to continue building the success of ADGA (Jamie). Your response to new ideas is the exact information that enthusiasts of the sport are craving. You are very right, and it will be a special time when our association is ready for expansion, as for now--- we must re-build the foundation, b ... more

Thanks Chris for those good words, People of Alaska, This is ridicules folks. All these lies, personal attacks and assumptions of people that are in our disc golf community must come to an end. This will accomplish nothing, and only create a major disaster! The only way to accomplish anything positive in disc golf and/or life is to be honest and hardworking. Yes, elections are just around the corner. That is something to be excited about. I too encourage every member to participate a ... more

In the run up to nominations, can someone from the board please post a couple of things for our membership (either here or on alaskadiscgolf.com)? A copy of the by-laws, so we can see what the general outline/goal of the ADGA has been in the past. Information on how to amend the by-laws would also be appreciated if we're looking at changing the shape of the board (it has been mentioned, I don't know if it will happen or not). Guidelines on who can vote, voting procedure etc. would be helpful. ... more

As far as I'm concerned, it doesn't even matter whether "Dale Rogan" is an actual person or not. Dale's posts have obviously stirred the pot - this was most likely his intent to begin with. If Dale is someone else posting under a fictitious moniker, it is probably so that the discussion doesn't get derailed by those who would seek to tear him/her down with false accusations and malicious personal campaigns - much like what Brian endured prior to resigning his post as association president. You crack me up you created another account in the identity of "Dale Rogan" because you are too much of a tool bag to post under your real name. Why don't you sprout a pair and just post under your real account. Dale Rogan does not exist

Did you roll your eyes as you read what Thad said and typed what you had to say? I'm sure there were choices to have outside the Mill and a few peeps drinking beer and eating pizza. Nominate and take votes outside of who is at the meeting. It is the Alaska Disc Golf Association, not the "Anchorage Disc Golf Club" running disc golf in Alaska. Time to start making nominations peeps! The vote for a fresh new board is coming up VERY soon. If you want to things to change and have a say, mak ... more

(sigh). As for the ADGA being/becoming Anchorage Disc Golf Association and a separate board being created for the Alaska Disc Golf Association? Well, the next time that more than 5 people show up to a board election so that we HAVE choices will be a step forward. The "election" of our leader? David, myself, and Brian sitting around a $5 pizza at the Mill. Thank you Brian, for stepping up and putting yourself out there, and for the huge things you did get accomplished. It's been a rough ye ... more

Just another topic for discussion: ADGA ----I understand that the ANC club has this name. *Could ADGA be (Anchorage Disc Golf Association) as well as (Alaska Disc Golf Association) with separate boards. Both could have the same website address. *Alaska Disc Golf Association---- should be a representative cross section of disc golfers throughout Alaska, aka a rep from all areas of disc golf in AK. ie Fairbanks, Juneau, Eagle River, Anchorage, Girdwood, Kenai, Seward, Homer, and any ... more

Hey Sean, part of it would be picking DGers that everyone trusts. The ballots would be given over to the person without looking into some kind of pot/hat. Then they can be drawn out individually so whose ballot it is is unknown for an anonymous count.

I like that idea Chris. Now we just need to think of a way to formalize the proxy counter process. As long as it is a private count w/o knowing who casted the vote.

Come on Thad, first civil debate and now online ballots. You've been outside too long. Speaking of, where are you hukking plastic at these days?

online ballots!! very 21st century !!!

What happened to Public Relations?

As for ballots. The board should approve proxy counters. So the guys in our area can fill out their ballots and the approved proxy can call in the results. If desired, the ballots themselves can be mailed to Anchorage for confirmation. Smaller areas can work through one of the proxies or call their ballots in themselves.

To all current ADGA members: We're are nominating for President, VP, Treasurer, and Secretary on our next meeting January 4th. Please consider who you want nominated between now and then. All of your voices are important and need to be heard for the good of the club. After the nominations have been placed, we will be voting for official board members on February 1st 2010. I don't know if anyone else agrees, but I don't see why we couldn't list folks we want nominated on here. We're sti ... more

I agree Thad, this seems to be getting out of hand.

I've heard that the 2012 bid will probaly be the highest finishing Alaskan in the State Championships that year.

Personal character assassination attempts don't have a place on this forum. I don't believe that opinions of another person are going to be changed on-line. Only through actions do opinions change. Looking forward to the 2012 USDGC bid there is one topic I feel that could be discussed. What do you all think about changing the bid to the year of. For example AK State Championship was July 10-11, USDGC Sept 24th. With 2 1/2 months to figure out time off, travel, and accommodations. Or some sor ... more

I don't have to defend anything to you about what was said as the truth is still GLARING. I’ve already gave credit for what they’ve done, but that doesn’t give any of them the right to be the way they have. I’m sure others aren’t taking that away from them either, but that is not what is on trial here. It is the disgust, divide, and overzealousness that are on trial. Their egos are so large they confuse truth, passion, and nobility for what THEY think is right. There is still a di ... more

Dale it appears as you don't exist, you have played no events in alaska in the past few years, you have never showed up to help with any of the work that needed to be done, so as far as the disc golf community you do not exist. You are trying to create a war against the people that are creating more opportunity and bettering the sport for you so that you can go out and play disc golf. So with that being said in the disc golf community you do not exist, or could be called "fictional". I must g ... more
