He's talking about Westchester. I completely agree with pulling the baskets (and I'm positive that most of you do too). This gives the ground an honest chance of getting healthy enough to put up with the 400+ daily rounds come summer. Consider all the work we did out there. We still have work to do, there's no reason to add to the work load. Plus, Parks and Rec is saying approx. 2 weeks. I hope it's dry by then. Doubt it, but hopeful. The bad part of the deal is that Kincaid will take most of that traffic.

That sucks this has to happen, but I understand as the Goon will be a mud pit.

I'd be there to help, but I'm up in Barrow until Wednesday.

It is a lot of fun up here where it is -45 at night and the sun being up 24/7

What course is this in reference to? I'm assuming Westchester...or is it PC?

So Matt, is this just Peter's Creek or all Anchorage courses?

Unfortunately, Anchorage Parks and Recreation (P&R) is forcing us to close the course for two weeks during "Break Up" time. The estimated date of reopening is the first week of May. This is coming from the parks superintendent, not me. I am merely the messenger. This Friday, April 15, 2011 at 11 am, myself, and a P&R crew and whoever is willing and able to help will be removing the baskets. The baskets will be stored and secured by Parks and Recreation until they can be replaced in a cou ... more

Hey John! We have a "mock" schedule set up. Once it's finalized you'll see it on alaskadiscgolf.com We have our monthly meeting tomorrow night so maybe it'll get finalized then. I'm sure you already know but we'll be heading up to Fairbanks for a solstice tourney (at least that's what i've heard) in June. I'm really excited about that one as i've never been to Fairbanks and i've met a lot of cool disc golfers from that area.

I'd like to come down and play in some of your tournaments this summer. Any idea when the schedule will be set?

Hello Everyone!

We are going to need to move the next meeting to the second Tuesday in March as Brian G., Louie and I are going to be out of town at the Discraft Memorial Championship. I appreciate everyone's flexibility.

FYI-I have secured a toll free conference call center for the out of towners or in towners to call in on. This number will be coming shortly as will the location of the meeting.

Thanks Again

Hello All, Some things we need to start thinking about before summer is upon us, are Tournaments and TDs. I would like to get these taken care of sooner than later to get them in the PDGA magazine and get to the business side of raising money and growing our sport. Do I have any volunteers for TDs. The following is a preliminary schedule that was discussed at the last ADGA meeting: May 7th World's Biggest May 21st Girdwood (PDGA/TD=Kurtis) June 11-12th Homer City (PDGA/TD=Edan) June ... more

Since I started the discussion, here are my goals: 1. Avoid the injury bug. Avoid the injury bug. Avoid the injury bug. It bears repeating. 2. Continue to grow the Kenai Eagle Club. 3. Finally get tee pads in for the yellow tees. 4. Help with planning/installation of a rumored Nikiski course. 5. Help prepare a new batch of players for leagues/tourneys 6. Further support promotion of DG in Seward 7. Play in one tourney outside of Alaska. 8. One 1000 rated round (this is my pipe dream). ... more

In 2011, I want to see the Back Nine Project at Russian Jack installed. Begin working on North Jack, an eighteen hole course on the north side of the park. Run a recreational league on Tuesday nights at RJSP. Get a few rounds in at the new Hilltop Course. Work out a new configuration and upgrades for Peters Creek. Play On!

Fun topic Chris.

I would like to win a sanctioned tournament (preferrably States). Attend three tournaments Outside: The Memorial, Am Worlds and ??? And lastly, end 2011 with a rating above 920.
