Yeti Series part 1 this Saturday 11-24-12

The Yeti Series is a winter time disc golf series at Vance park. First round singles then optional second round $2 doubles. The course layout will be 15 holes - Full safari. This event will include a cash payout, ace pot, & CTP's.

AODGC 2012 - 9/15/2012 - Timber Park

If your not going to the Oregon / Washington Disc Golf Championships tomorrow, come check out the AODGC! Its going to be perfect weather at Timber for this tournament. Online registration closes tonight at 7pm. There will be sign ups in the morning starting at 8:30am. Bring some chili for the cook-off & your disc golf cart. ABDG Booth at Beaver Fling - 1 week away

Well.. Ive been talking about it for months & now it is upon us.
June 24th-26 our club will have a booth at this years beaver state fling.

I am looking for club members who would like to hang out at the booth to help promote the club & raise money for ABDG by selling Disc golf swag & other items.

Worlds Biggest Disc Golf Weekend is THIS WEEKEND!

Sweet! The Discs & shirts are in! Come out & join Disc Golfers all over the world in celebrating our love for the sport. I wanted to clarify a few questions I have been getting. I wanted to clarify a few questions I have been getting.

Q: Do I have to show up both days of the event?
A: No, make it out to either day or both. I will have sets of trophies each day for competitive players. If you play both days you will still only receive 1 players pack. WBDGW is setup as an event to promote & expand the sport of disc golf & introduce to new players.

Q: What does competitive & non-competitive mean?
A: If you are playing competitively, then show up @ 9:30am - either day, & play 2 rounds with potluck BBQ in between for a small trophy & bragging rights. :) If you are playing recreational or non-competitively, then just come out anytime & pick up your players pack - hang out & play some leisurely disc golf.

Q: What is in the Players Pack?
A: You will get a choice in 1 of the following Millennium discs, Omega SuperSoft (like a really soft aviar), JLS (like a soft star tbird), or Q Orion LS (i hear its similar to a sidewinder in champ plastic - limited amount available) & you get a 2011 WBDGW T-Shirt.

Q: Whats the deal with the Potluck BBQ?
A: Both days are setup as a social event with a potluck BBQ in between rounds. So feel free to bring some meat, or a side dish. I will have an experienced BBQ'er on hand to cook for us. Please see list below for items we may need & let me know if you want to volunteer to supply.

Q: What if we run out of Players Packs?
A: There will be a waiting list if we run out of player packs, you will be able to pick out your disc & shirt size to be delivered within a week or two after event.

Please let me know if you guys have any more questions.

Stuff we could use for the Potluck - let me know if you can provide.
Meat (is it time to clean out your freezer..?), side dishes such as chips, dips, salads ect.., more bbq coals, condiments, paper plates(napkins, forks ect..) chairs, and anything else you would like to bring that will make this an outstanding event.

Work party at Leverich Park this Saturday

If you are looking fo something to do this Saturday ABDG has offered to help with a work party at Leverich Park this Saturday to get things ready for the busy season ahead. The plan is 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Bring gloves, rakes, shovels, trimming tools, etc. The goal is to pick up every speck of trash, any downed branches to be moved off fairways, spread bark chips in key areas, repaint tee lines on holes 6, 10, and 11 and clear bamboo to make room for an alternate pin location on hole 4. There will be a doubles round after the park cleanup.

Tonights the Night!

First night of minis is tonight 7:30PM at Luckies Bar and Grill in Gresham. 223RD and Burnside. Tags are 3 bucks bring three people and get one free. It is not mandatory to have a tag you can just come and play. Money generated by tags goes Back into ABDG for prizes for yeti series and 2K10 bag tag challenge. The bar is pumped to have us in so they are offering Drink specials for the Disc golfers $5 pitchers of PBR and $2 well drinks. Guna be a blast come tonight and help this be a fun weekly event!

It looks like we are going to have some nice weather out at Camp Dakota, I am looking forward to it.
Please Do not forget that there is a $3 per person park fee. From what I hear it is a nice park with new baskets & well worth it.

As I have mentioned in previous weeks, Camp Dakota offers an 18 hole course with new baskets just recently installed. They also have a paint ball course that is not open during the weekdays, so it should not interfere with our game. There is a $3 per person park fee. For those of you that are interested I have suggested a second round of Paint ball to mix things up.
I have spoken with the camp & they offer a $30 package that includes 500 paint balls & all the equipment. Though they do not normally have paint balling during the weekdays, they will open it for us if I can get a small group to commit. They do also offer group discount rates of 6 or more.

Please let me know BEFORE Monday 8-11 if you are interested in playing some DG Paintball, so i can reserve the spot.

Ready for Milo Park tomorrow?

Another great weather day before winter sets in. This weeks bagtag will be a tun of fun. I personally spoke with Camo & he has agreed to play the Pro pads while we all play the Ams, but he is confident that he will still give us a run for our money.. If anyone else wants to play on the propads with Camo, I will have a nice separate prize for pro & am pads. Still full tag shuffle. Turkey pot & ace pots are growing. We will play 18 holes for the 1st round & go upto the 9 hole side for the second ... more

Pier Park 9/22 ABDG BagTag Challenge

I have heard from allot of people saying they are going to join us tomorrow so we should have a great turn out.
We will be introducing an optional ace pot & turkey pot for $1 ea.
Weather looks good! We should have enough drivers, but just in case.. drivers are always welcome.
Someone mentioned that the pier doubles is over now on Wednesday, so we can do our own doubles for a second round if everyone is interested - Misfits points!

Ready for Leverich tomorrow?

We had a great turn out last week! Lets blow it up. We are leaving Vance Park Coffee shop tomorrow at 10:30 am and arrive at Leverich Park around 11:15-11:30 depending on traffic. If you live on that side of town you are welcome to meet us there. Tomorrows event has a Pirate theme to celebrate the Portland Pirate Festival happening this weekend.
