Beacon Hills Park Disc Golf Course (5959 W. Beacon Hill Blvd., Highland, UT): Revised hole layout as a result of comments from numerous players and city easing up on use of grass area. Only has four baskets, the rest are pole targets (city won't pay for anything, so everything is donated). Has some very challenging holes with a long and short option at each hole (Blue-long or Red-short tees), wide open areas, beautiful scenery. Still need to measure holes and assign pars. Any suggestions on pars would be appreciated. Print map from here or send me an email for it ([email redacted]).

I finally made I out there yesterday. Not knowing what to expect I would say that I was really impressed. I'm not a fan of object courses but because there are some baskets it didn't seem to bother me as much. If you're gonna do different pars, I would say that you should probably just do 3s from th ... more

New distance signs for all tees (red & blue) were posted today. The city mowed the weeds down so its very easy to walk the course and with foliage off the trees its easier to find a misplaced disc.

Dynamic Discs is in the house this weekend at Creekside Park! Dynamic discs Chasin' the Chains Tour has made a stop in SLC before heading out to California for the rest of the month. Utah is full of players who gave us a very positive response when we were here back in June for the River Park Open so we figured that this was a great opportunity to come back. Friday the DD RV will be set up to take registration for a couple of events we are putting on for you guys. Saturday Oct 6: When: Sa ... more

Thanks to everyone for coming to the City's Parks Symposium. I think it was definitely a success! We were by far the most numerous group for the entire event (counted about 20 DG supporters in total). I've been told by my sources that city officials were really impressed not only with our crowd but also how positive we were about collaborating with them. UPDATE, The way it looks, Jordan River Park will be off limits until next year and then only for about 11 acres. There are additional 15 a ... more

It was also posted on fb. If you logged into fb you would see I invited you to it.

What do you know anyway Jason? J/k I think that's already been done.

If we want the maximum people to show up at this meeting, someone needs to put up some flyers at creekside and the U to get the word out. I'm willing to put up a flyer at the U. Also, we need to inform the people we see on the course and tell them to tell people they see. A very small percentage of the people who play follow this forum or even know this website exists.

URGENT UPDATE FOR EVERYBODY INTERESTED IN NEW DG OPPORTUNITIES IN SLC: Not sure what's going on in terms of tournaments on SEPT 22, but there is a public hearing at city hall about park projects for the City of Salt Lake (not County) that may be important to determine the chance of (a) new disc golf course(s) in city limits. See the schedule below, but we as a community should try to make a strong showing at that event (one in the morning and a repeat one in the afternoon). They will talk about ... more

Russ I agree we definitely need more courses. I've always thought Crestwood would be an awesome place for a course. also that the Jordan river par 3 course if shut down could be a good place. I know they want to keep the property in the parks department. I'm down to go to any meetings. I'm also emailing the city council as well so they know there's an interest in a course. I've thought about doing a petition either sit a Creekside or try to look for an online one. The more people we can ... more

Great news Robert on the tournament!

Hello all. I just thought that I touch base again on some digging that I did as far as the development of new disc golf course in good ole Salt Lake. As you all may know, Salt Lake County is hosting two (2) disc golf tourneys next month at Creekside and Valley Regional. When I saw that I got pretty excited because I figured, hey this might be a good opportunity to touch base with the county and see what it would take to get some new disc golf courses installed. I spoke with a dude at the cou ... more

Waddup Krew!! So I was thinking, and there may have been discussions about this already, but I am just going to throw it out there. NUDGA has the Golden Spike series which is fun.. Us fellas down here in Salt Lake should have something similar over the summer don't you think??? Like the Salt Lake Valley Hukathon or something. Have like a 4 or 5 course thing like they did for the Golden Spike series. Course would be Creekside, Valley Regional, maybe the U or U's course, potentially Fairmont, ... more

Hey everyone! I am planning on trying to get up to solitude every day that I can this summer, but if I want to do that I need people to come with me. I can give 4 people a ride up in my car (3 comfortably). If you are interested, I will be 'scheduling' a round here on discgolfscene every time I am going up there, so check out the home page for when I will be playing. If you want to tag along just message me on here or text me my number is on my profile. Add me as a friend if you aren't friends with me/ don't know me and want to come. The rounds will probably be in the late mornings

Park Clean-up date for Creekside Park is saturday April 28th.

Jake La "Putt" ka    April 20, 2012 at 12:48pm

Here is my proposal for the new league. We can call it "saturday ace race" or "saturday singles" at Tville (valley regional) To play it will be 5 dollars straight up. 3 dollars for the buy-in and 2 dollars for the ace pot. Since it will be an ace race, we will choose random long holes to make a temporary short tee pad for the day. I think each week we should do something unique and random each week but i haven't thought of anything yet. The other idea i had was instead of a 2 dollar ace pot, we ... more
